Detachment From The “Form” Is Inevitable, But Detaching From The “Essence” Is Optional

Detachment From The “Form” Is Inevitable, But Detaching From The “Essence” Is Optional

The issue is not in the “expectation” itself but in the lack of clarity on how essence and form are different.

Before reading this article, I recommend revisiting this one about artificial detachment. Also, feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.

Dear Soul,

A tree will naturally grow in the direction of sunlight—this is its organic configuration. But if something happens in the environment, like another tree blocking the sun, it will deviate from its original preset to adapt and survive.

The tree is not detaching from sunlight (essence); it simply adapts its approach (form) to keep receiving it.

Sooner or later, we all have to face the inevitability of detaching from the form we have assigned to the essence of what we want. Why? Because form is the result of what we know in the present and what we think and feel about it.

Form reflects the exercise of the conscious mind when we consider the possibilities that feel more compatible with our current reality, but essence is the nature of what we want. This nature extends beyond the limits of the conscious mind and linear time.

The essence is more complex and resilient than the form because it holds unlimited potential. If you can imagine a box where all possibilities are stored and unfolding at the same time, well, that is the definition of essence.

To put it in simpler words:

  • Love is essence.

  • How and when love manifests is form.
